Replace the brake disks on the car VW POLO Saloon (9N4) in complete set for each axis. Regardless of the state of components. This will ensure even braking.

All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). Recommended sequence of steps:
Step 1
Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Step 2
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 3
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 4
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 5
Unscrew the wheel bolts.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW POLO Saloon (9N4)
Step 6
Remove the wheel.
Step 7
Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 8
Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a combination spanner #15.
Step 9
Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
Step 10
Remove the brake caliper. Use a crowbar.
Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). Professionals recommend:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
Step 11
Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 12
Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use HEX No.H8. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Remove the caliper bracket.
Step 14
Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 15
Unscrew the brake disc fastening. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 16
Remove the brake disc.
Step 17
Clean the hub. Use a wire brush. Treat the contacting surface. Use copper grease.
Step 18
Install the brake disc.
Step 19
Tighten the brake disc fastening. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 4 Nm torque.
Step 20
Clean the brake caliper bracket from dirt and dust. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 21
Clean the brake caliper guide pins.
Step 22
Treat the brake caliper guide pins. Use the brake caliper guide pin grease.
Step 23
Treat the fastening bolts. Use a sealant.
Step 24
Install the brake caliper bracket.
Step 25
Tighten the brake caliper bracket. Use HEX No.H8. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 80 Nm torque.
Step 26
Treat the brake caliper piston. Use a brake cleaner.
Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). Tip from AUTODOC:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 27
Press in the brake caliper piston. Use brake caliper wind back tool.
Step 28
Install the brake caliper and fix it. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque.
Step 29
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 30
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 31
Install the wheel.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. VW POLO Saloon (9N4)
Step 32
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 33
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 34
Remove the jacks and chocks.
Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). AUTODOC recommends:
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.
Step 35
Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Replacement: brake discs – VW POLO Saloon (9N4). Tip:
Without starting the engine, press the brake pedal several times until you feel significant resistance.
Step 36
Close the hood.
