When replacing the brake caliper, it is recommended to check the brake hose for damages and, if necessary, to replace it with a new one. When replacing a brake caliper it is recommended to replace brake pads, check the state of the brake discs and replace them with new ones if necessary.If no new guide pins were supplied in a kit with the new brake calipers, use the old pins.

Detach the brake pad wear sensor wiring harness.
Step 12
Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the caliper, and the guide pins area.Use a wire brush.Use a brake cleaner.
Step 13
Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp.
Step 14
Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper.Use a combination spanner #14.
Step 16
Install and fix the brake hose into a new caliper.
Step 17
Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper.Use a combination spanner #14.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 15 Nm torque.
Step 18
Remove the brake hose clamp.
Step 19
Clean the brake caliper surface.
Step 20
Install the brake caliper and fix it.
Step 21
Attach the brake pad wear sensor wiring harness.
Step 22
Tighten the brake caliper fasteners.Use a drive socket #12.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
Step 23
Install the parking brake cable into the brake caliper bracket.Use round-nose pliers.Use a crowbar.
Step 24
Clean dirt from the brake hose bolt.Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake caliper – VW Multivan T5. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 25
Connect the brake bleeder kit to the brake bleeder screw.
Step 26
Undo the brake bleeder screw.Use a flare nut spanner #11.
Step 27
Bleed the brake caliper system.
Step 28
Tighten the brake caliper bleed screw. Use a flare nut spanner #11.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 10 Nm torque.
Step 29
Disconnect the brake bleeder kit.
Step 30
Clean dirt from the brake hose bolt.Use a brake cleaner.
Step 31
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use ceramic grease.
Step 32
Clean the brake disk surface.Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake caliper – VW Multivan T5. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.

Install the wheel.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. VW Multivan T5

Screw in the wheel bolts.Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 35
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts.Use wheel impact socket #19.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 180 Nm torque.
