When replacing a brake caliper it is recommended to replace brake pads, check the state of the brake discs and replace them with new ones if necessary.

Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 16
While replacing the brake caliper on Mercedes W203, closely examine brake hoses for any signs of damage. Replace them if needed.
Step 17
Remove the brake pad retaining pin. Use a hammer. Use a pin punch.
Step 18
Remove the brake pads.
Step 19
If going to use the old brake pads, clean them. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.
Replacement: brake caliper – Mercedes W203. Tip:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 20
Treat the surface where the brake pads contact the brake caliper. Use anti-squeal paste.
Step 21
Screw the brake caliper on the brake pipe.
Step 22
Install the brake caliper and fix it.
Step 23
Tighten the brake caliper fasteners. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 24
Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.
Step 25
Install the brake pads.
Step 26
Install the brake pad retaining pin. Use a hammer. Use a pin punch.
Step 27
Remove the brake hose clamp.
Step 28
Undo the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #9.
Step 29
Connect the brake bleeder kit to the brake bleeder screw.
Step 30
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.
Step 31
Without starting the engine, press the brake pedal several times until you feel significant resistance.
Step 32
Bleed the brake caliper system.
Step 33
Tighten the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #9.
Step 34
Disconnect the brake bleeder kit.
Step 35
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a wire brush. Treat the contacting surface. Use copper grease.
Step 36
Install the wheel.
AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. Mercedes W203
Step 37
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 38
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.
