Replacement: ignition coil – MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS (W210). Tools you need:
HEX bit No.HW5.
Drive socket # E8
Torque wrench
Flat screwdriver
High-temperature anti-seize lubricant
Fender cover
Replacement: ignition coil – MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS (W210). AUTODOC experts recommend:
  • The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
  • Please note: all work on the car – MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS (W210) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
  1. Step 1
    Open the hood.

    Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

    Undo the engine cover screws (3 pieces). Use HEX No.HW5.

    Remove the engine cover.

    Detach the connector from the ignition coil.

    Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use a drive socket #E8.
  5. Step 7

    Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well.
  6. Step 8

    Treat the ignition coil tip. Use high-temperature grease. Use a flat screwdriver.
