How to change front headlights on TOYOTA YARIS Mk2 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: headlights – Toyota Yaris Mk2. Tip from AUTODOC:

The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left headlight.
Please note: all work on the car – Toyota Yaris Mk2 – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the hood.

Step 2

Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
Step 3

Unscrew the lower fasteners of the bumper. Use a drive socket #10.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 4

Remove the side bumper retainer clips.Use a Phillips screwdriver.Use a clip removal tool.
Step 5

Detach the lockers at the points where they are fastened to the bumper.
Step 6

Lower the car.
Step 7

Remove the upper bumper retainer clips.Use a clip removal tool.
Step 8

Stick painter's tape to the car fenders to protect the paintwork from damage when demounting the bumper.
Step 9

Release the side clips of the bumper.
Step 10

Carefully release the bumper from the fasteners.

Step 11

Remove the bumper.

Replacement: headlights – Toyota Yaris Mk2. To avoid damaging the part when removing it, do not use excessive force.
Step 12

Unscrew the headlight fasteners.Use a drive socket #10.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13

Unplug the connectors of the headlight bulbs.
Step 14

Remove the headlight.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: headlights – Toyota Yaris Mk2. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 15

Remove the bulbs from the old headlight and install them on the new one.
Step 16

Treat the connectors of the headlights.Use electronic spray.
Step 17

Plug in the connectors of the headlight bulbs.
Step 18

Install the new headlight.

Replacement: headlights – Toyota Yaris Mk2. To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force.
Step 19

Screw in the headlight fasteners.Use a drive socket #10.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 20

Switch on the ignition.

Step 21

Check whether the headlights function properly.
Step 22

Switch off the ignition.

Step 23

Install the bumper to the mounting seat.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: headlights – Toyota Yaris Mk2. Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the part.
Step 24

Snap the bumper side clips into place.Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Step 25

Install the upper bumper retainer clips.
Step 26

Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.

Step 27

Install the side bumper retainer clips.
Step 28

Attach the lockers at the points where they are fastened to the bumper.
Step 29

Remove the masking tape.
Step 30

Screw in the lower fasteners of the bumper. Use a drive socket #10.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 31

Lower the car.

Step 32

Close the hood.
