Replacement: glass for wing mirror – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C208). Tip from AUTODOC:
The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left side mirror glass.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: glass for wing mirror – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C208). Take the following steps:
Step 1
Tilt the mirror glass out of the housing.
Step 2
Carefully release the mirror glass from its attachment.
Step 3
Remove the mirror glass.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: glass for wing mirror – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C208). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 4
Detach the mirror heating connectors.
Step 5
Treat the mirror heating connectors. Use dielectric grease.
Step 6
Release the mirror glass retainer clip. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 7
Attach the mirror heating connectors.
Step 8
Install the new mirror glass.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: glass for wing mirror – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C208). To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force.Make sure the mirror glass is positioned correctly. It should be aligned with the locking tabs on the housing.
Step 9
Attach the mirror glass retainer clip. Use a plastic trim tool. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 10
Clean the mirror glass.
Step 11
Switch on the ignition. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 12
Switch off the ignition.
