Replacement: fuel filter – VW GOLF VI Van (5K1_). List of the tools you'll need:

                        All-purpose cleaning spray
                      
                        Torx bit T20
                      
                        Ratchet wrench
                      
                        Torque wrench
                      
                        Fluid container
                      
                        Flat Screwdriver
                      
                        Crow bar
                      
                        Microfibre towel
                      
                        Fender cover

Replacement: fuel filter – VW GOLF VI Van (5K1_). Tip:

Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: fuel filter – VW GOLF VI Van (5K1_). Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Clean the fuel filter.Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 4

Unscrew the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover.Use Torx T20.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 5

Lift the fuel filter cover up a little.Use a crowbar.
Step 6

Remove the fuel filter.
Step 7

Put the old filter cartridge in the container.
Step 8

Cover the fuel filter housing with a microfibre cloth to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system.
Step 9

Clean the fuel filter housing and the cover. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 10

Remove the rubber strip.Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 11

Install the rubber strip.
Step 12

Remove the microfibre cloth from the fuel filter housing.
Step 13

Install a new fuel filter.

Replacement: fuel filter – VW GOLF VI Van (5K1_). Professionals recommend:

Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.VW GOLF VI Van (5K1_) – It's important to only use high-quality filters.
Step 14

Install and tighten the cap of the fuel filter housing.Use Torx T20.Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 15

Tighten the fasteners of the fuel filter housing cover.Use Torx T20.Use a ratchet wrench.Use a torque wrench.Tighten it to 9 nm torque.

AUTODOC recommends:

Before starting off, switch the ignition on and off several times. This should be done to activate the fuel pump to make it pump fuel through the fuel system.

Step 16

Run the engine for a few minutes.This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.

Step 17

Shut off the engine.

Step 18

Remove the fender protection cover.

Step 19

Close the hood.
