Replacement: fuel filter – VAUXHALL VIVARO Box (F7). AUTODOC recommends:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapours are poisonous.
- To avoid fire, wait until the engine has cooled down completely before beginning work. Keep open flames or sources of sparks away from the area.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure using the method specified by your car manufacturer, to prevent fuel from spraying out.
- Please note: all work on the car – VAUXHALL VIVARO Box (F7) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out the replacement steps as follows:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter. Plug the fuel lines immediately after disconnecting them to prevent fuel spills and contamination of the fuel system. Use the fuel line pliers.Caution!Fuel may leak from the filter housing and fuel lines. - Step 4
Detach the electrical connector of the fuel filter. - Step 5
Remove the fuel filter housing. - Step 6
Unscrew the fuel filter cap fastener. Use a T30 Torx bit. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 7
Remove the fastener and detach the sealing ring by sliding it off. - Step 8
Remove the fuel filter cap. - Step 9
Remove the filter element from the fuel filter housing. - Step 10
Remove the sealing ring from the filter housing. - Step 11
Clean the fuel filter housing, cap, and cap fastener. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 12
Install new sealing rings on the fastener and the filter housing. - Step 13
Install a new filter element into the fuel filter housing. - Step 14
Install the fuel filter cap. - Step 15
Install the fastener. - Step 16
Tighten the fuel filter cap fastener. Use a T30 Torx bit. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 15 N·m.
