                      Fuel line pliers
                    
                      Fluid drain pan

Replacement: fuel filter – NISSAN PRIMASTAR Platform/Chassis. Professionals recommend:

Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapours are poisonous.
To avoid fire, wait until the engine has cooled down completely before beginning work. Keep open flames or sources of sparks away from the area.
Relieve the fuel system pressure using the method specified by your car manufacturer, to prevent fuel from spraying out.
All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.

Replacement: fuel filter – NISSAN PRIMASTAR Platform/Chassis. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Prepare a fluid drain pan.

Step 4

Clean all filter connections. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 5

Detach the electrical connector of the fuel filter.
Step 6

Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter. Plug the fuel lines immediately after disconnecting them to prevent spills and contamination. Use the fuel line pliers.
Step 7

Remove the fuel filter housing.
Step 8

Unscrew the fuel filter cap fastener. Use a T30 Torx bit. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9

Remove the fastener.
Step 10

Remove the fuel filter cap.
Step 11

Remove the sealing ring.

Step 12

Remove the filter element from the fuel filter housing.
Step 13

Clean the fuel filter housing, cap, and cap fastener. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 14

Install a new filter element into the fuel filter housing.
Step 15

Install a new sealing ring.
Step 16

Install the fuel filter cap.
Step 17

Install the fastener.
Step 18

Tighten the fuel filter cap fastener. Use a T30 Torx bit. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 12 N·m.
Step 19

Install the fuel filter housing.
Step 20

Remove the plugs from the fuel lines and connect the lines to the fuel filter.
Step 21

Treat the electrical connector of the fuel filter. Use an electronic spray.
Step 22

Attach the electrical connector to the fuel filter.

Replacement: fuel filter – NISSAN PRIMASTAR Platform/Chassis. AUTODOC recommends:
After replacing the fuel filter, you may need to bleed the fuel system of air. Check your vehicle manufacturer's repair manual and follow the procedure listed there.
Step 23

Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary to ensure that the component works properly.

Step 24

Switch off the engine.

Make sure there are no fuel leaks.
Step 25

Remove the fender cover.

Step 26

Close the bonnet.
