Remove the wheel.
Step 11
Release the fastener that connects the control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush.
Step 12
Remove the cotter pin. Use a crowbar.
Step 13
Loosen the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a drive socket #32. Use a tap wrench. Use a crowbar.
Step 14
Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle. Use a pin punch. Use a hammer.
Step 15
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 16
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #16. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 17
Remove the stabilizer rod.
Step 18
Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 19
Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17.
Step 20
Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 21
Clean the fasteners connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 22
Release the fastener that connects the control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
Step 23
Prop up the steering knuckle. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 24
Disconnect the lower arm from the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar.
Step 25
Remove the support from under the steering knuckle.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: suspension strut – PEUGEOT 206 Hatchback (2A/C). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.

Unscrew the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #18.
Step 27
Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 28
Unscrew the brake hose fastening bracket from the shock strut. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 29
Pull the drive shaft out of the steering knuckle and lifting it, tie to the body.
To avoid injuries, hold the shock strut when undoing the fastening bolts.

Remove the suspension strut.
Step 35
Set the shock absorber strut on the spring compressor tool.
Replacement: suspension strut – PEUGEOT 206 Hatchback (2A/C). Tip from AUTODOC:
Note that when using a spring compressor, spring coils need to be securely gripped, compressing the spring on the opposite sides.Ensure the correct position of the spring in the retainer.Make sure that the spring coils tightly entered the lock handles.

Compress the spring.

Treat the shock strut rod. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 38
Remove the strut piston rod nut. Use a drive socket #21. Use HEX No.H7. Use a ratchet wrench.

Remove the shock absorber mount, boot and bump stop.

Release the coil spring.
Step 41
Remove the spring.

Remove the old shock absorber from the hydraulic coil spring compressor.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: suspension strut – PEUGEOT 206 Hatchback (2A/C). Carefully inspect the mount, the boot, and the bump stop of the shock absorber. Replace if necessary.Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.

Install the new shock absorber on the hydraulic coil spring compressor.

Install the spring on the shock absorber.

Install the dust sleeve and the bump stop on the new shock absorber.

Compress the spring.
Step 47
Install the upper strut mount and the strut mount bearing.
Step 48
Tighten the shock strut piston rod nut. Use a drive socket #21. Use HEX No.H7. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 45 Nm torque.

Check to make sure the spring is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment.

Decompress the spring.

Remove the assembled shock strut.

Install the shock strut into the wheel arch.

Screw the top fastening of the shock strut mount. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. Do not tighten it.

Treat the shock strut mounting seat on the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 54
Fix the shock absorber strut on the steering knuckle.
Step 55
Install the fastening bolt.

Screw in the fastener that connects the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #18.
Step 57
Tighten the brake hose fastening bracket to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.

Remove the support from under the steering knuckle.

PEUGEOT 206 Hatchback (2A/C) – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car.

Clean the splines of the drive shaft CV joint. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Install the drive shaft.

Connect the lower arm to the steering knuckle.

Install the fastening bolt.

Screw the fasteners of the ball joint. Use a drive socket #17. Use a combination spanner #17.

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a drive socket #17. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 40 Nm torque.

Tighten the lower fasteners connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.

Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link. Use a drive socket #16.
Step 67
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque.
Step 68
Treat all joints of the arm. Treat the shock strut fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 69
Tighten the drive shaft nut. Use a drive socket #32. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 245 Nm torque.
Step 70
Install the cotter pin. Use a crowbar.

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

Install the wheel.
