How to change front anti roll bar link / front drop link on FIAT BRAVO 2 (198) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Anti Roll Bar Links for BRAVO II (198) and other FIAT models
Replace the stabiliser links on Fiat Bravo 2 in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Fiat Bravo 2. Recommended sequence of steps:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3
Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Fiat Bravo 2
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Chock the opposite wheel. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 7
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 8
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a drive socket #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Unscrew and remove the wheel arch cover fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 10
Remove the wheel arch cover.
Step 11
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 12
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use HEX No.H5. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Remove the stabilizer rod.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Fiat Bravo 2. Professionals recommend:
Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
Step 14
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
Step 15
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #17. Use HEX No.H5. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 16
Remove the hydraulic transmission jack.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Fiat Bravo 2. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.
Step 17
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the shock strut. Use a combination spanner #17. Use HEX No.H5. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 18
Install the wheel arch cover to its mounting seat.
Step 19
Install and tighten the wheel arch cover fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 20
Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Treat the contacting surface. Use copper grease.
Step 21
Install the wheel.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. Fiat Bravo 2
Step 22
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 23
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 24
Remove the jacks and chocks.
