- Replace the oil filter every time you change the engine oil.
- Before getting down to work, warm up the engine to reduce the viscosity of the oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.
- Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Unscrew the oil filler cap.

Pull up the oil dipstick.
- Step 5
Lift the vehicle using a vehicle lift or place it over an inspection pit.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – VAUXHALL VIVARO Platform/Chassis (E7). Professionals recommend:The vehicle must be level, but if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.

Put an oil drain pan with a capacity of at least 8 litres under the drain hole.

Clean the area of the oil pan drain hole. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.

Unscrew the drain plug. Use an 8 mm square head drain plug socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9

Drain the used oil.
Caution!The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely flowed out of the drain hole.
- Step 10

Clean the oil filter cap. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 11

Unscrew the filter cap together with the old filter element. Use a 27 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.

Clean the oil filter mounting seat. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 13

Remove the filter element from the filter cap. Remove the old O-ring of the oil filter cap. Use a slotted screwdriver.
- Step 14

Clean the oil filter cap. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 15

Install a new O-ring on the oil filter cap. Install a new filter element into the oil filter cap.
- Step 16

Lubricate the new O-ring of the oil filter cap with a small amount of fresh oil.
- Step 17

Install the oil filter cap and screw it in. Use a 27 mm socket. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 25 N·m.
