How to change the oil filter and engine oil on the MITSUBISHI L200 KA [AUTODOC TUTORIAL]


- Replace the oil filter every time you change the engine oil.
- Before getting down to work, warm up the engine to reduce the viscosity of the oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – Mitsubishi L200 KA – should be done with the engine switched off.
- Step 1

Open the bonnet.
- Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3

Unscrew the oil filler cap.
- Step 4

Pull up the oil dipstick.
- Step 5

Lift the vehicle using a vehicle lift or place it over an inspection pit.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Mitsubishi L200 KA. Tip from AUTODOC experts:The vehicle must be level, but if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.
- Step 6

Put an oil drain pan with a capacity of at least 8 litres under the drain hole.
- Step 7

Clean the area of the oil pan drain hole. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 8

Unscrew the drain plug. Use a 17 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9

Drain the used oil.
Caution!The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely flowed out of the drain hole.
- Step 10

Turn the wheels fully to the right.
- Step 11

Unscrew the oil filter. Use a 100-15F cup type oil filter wrench. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12

Remove the oil filter.
- Step 13

Clean the oil filter mounting seat. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 14
Apply a small amount of fresh oil to the new filter's gasket.
Step 15
Install the new oil filter.
- Step 16

Tighten the oil filter. Use a 100-15F cup type oil filter wrench. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 22 N·m.
- Step 17

Clean the area of the oil pan drain hole. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
