Replacement: coolant expansion tank – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). AUTODOC recommends:

Follow the recommendations and requirements for part operation provided by the manufacturer.
All the work should be carried out with the engine cooled down and ignition switched off.

Replacement: coolant expansion tank – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). Take the following steps:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Lift the vehicle using a vehicle lift or place it over an inspection pit.

Step 4

Prepare a fluid drain pan.
Step 5

Clean the area where the hose is connected to the oil cooler. Use a nylon brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 6

Disconnect the hose from the oil cooler after releasing the hose clamp. Use combination pliers.
Step 7

Unscrew the coolant expansion tank cap.

Replacement: coolant expansion tank – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Wait until the coolant has completely flowed out of the hose.
Step 8

Clean the tip of the oil cooler where the hose attaches. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 9

Connect the hose to the oil cooler. Use combination pliers.
Step 10

Lower the vehicle.

Step 11

Disconnect the hoses from the expansion tank. Use hose clamp pliers. Use hose removal pliers.

Caution!
Block the hoses to stop contaminants from getting in.Use paper towels.
Step 12

Unscrew the coolant expansion tank fastener. Use a 10 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 14

Remove the coolant expansion tank, releasing it from its bracket.
Step 15

Install the new coolant expansion tank on its bracket until it clicks on.
Step 16

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 17

Tighten the expansion tank fastener. Use a 10 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 18

Clean the expansion tank hoses. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. Remove the paper towels.
Step 19

Connect the hoses to the expansion tank. Use hose clamp pliers.
Step 20

Remove the coolant reservoir cap.
Step 21

Insert the funnel.
Step 22

Pour coolant into the reservoir.

Replacement: coolant expansion tank – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). AUTODOC recommends:
Only use the coolant recommended by the manufacturer.
Step 23

Loosen the coolant bleed screw. Use a slotted screwdriver.

Important!
Wait until the air goes out of the system.
Step 24

Tighten the coolant bleed screw.
Step 25

Clean the screw and the area around it to remove any coolant. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 26

Top up the coolant in the expansion tank.

Replacement: coolant expansion tank – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). Tip:
The coolant level should be at the MAX mark on the reservoir.
Step 27

Put the coolant reservoir cap back on and tighten it.
Step 28

Run the engine for a few minutes. This should be done in order to remove residual air from the cooling system and to check that the components are operating correctly and there are no leaks.
Step 29

Shut off the engine and let it cool down.

Step 30

Top up the coolant to the MAX mark without exceeding it.

Step 31

Remove the fender cover.

Step 32

Close the bonnet.
