SCAN ME
Anyone able to shed some light?
2 months ago, my car broke down due to the engine overheating. Called AA, and we found a crack in the thermostat housing, got it to my local garage, and they replaced it. All running fine, temps running normal and no further problems till Sat just gone!
My 2015 Jeep Cherokee 2.2 started smoking when reversing down a slight downhill. The front of the engine seemed to get really hot. Check engine light on.
Plugged it in and was throwing DPF, turbo and throttle control codes. Sent DPF off to be cleaned, sent turbo off to be reconditioned, and the garage called me to say that the DPF was completely clear and had no build-up!
Really struggling to work out what caused the damage. There’s definitely back-pressure damage to the turbo exhaust veins and damage to the exhaust hose bolt. The exhaust hose had also blown off the turbo.
Turbo recon shop advised that the exhaust vein in the turbo was caked, and the shroud was coked which suggests to me that there has been a build-up somewhere in the exhaust side of the system but struggling to work out where!
Just to add, full service was done in June, along with the replacement of both the fuel filter and oil filter.
Any suggestions or help are greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
