Start/Stop button not working

@user_910048 Apr 07, 2022MemberI have a 2005 CLS320 in great condition with only 76k miles covered. Over a period of time the stop/start button on top of the gear knob became intermittent and woulsn’t work without moving the gear knob around. Now it has stopped working completely. My guess is there are cables that have work hardened and broken inside the selector.
Is this something that can be fixed without replacing the whole selector mechanism?
