    Remove ignition wires.
Take a spark plug wrench (extended), unscrew the old plug, and screw in new ones. Put the ignition cable back in.

    Fuel filter:
Disconnect hoses and pipes from the filter and replace them with a new one.

Older Stradas sometimes need a bit of extra care with the fuel filter housing—just check the rubber seal is in good nick and everything fits snugly.

I found the spark plug wires are quite stiff, so twist them gently before pulling to avoid damaging them.

Make sure you use the right torque for the plugs—27 nm is key. Overtightening can ruin the threads in the head.

I did mine last winter and took about 45 minutes. The fuel filter is surprisingly easy once you know which fuse to pull first.

Had a mate who forgot to relieve pressure—the result was a small spray of fuel. Definitely recommend the fuse trick.

I prefer doing one plug at a time so I don’t mix up the wires.

Yeah, and label the wires with tape if you’re unsure.

I always use a bit of anti-seize on the new plug threads, helps next time.

The filter housing is a bit fiddly, but a new rubber strip makes everything seal better.

I found the spark plug socket #16 does the job perfectly, no need for adaptors.

If you’re unsure, run the engine for a few minutes after to check for leaks and smooth running.

Remember to dispose of the old filter properly—don’t toss it in the bin.

Just a tip: if you’re working in a garage, make sure the area is well ventilated when dealing with fuel.

I’d do this every 40,000 km for plugs and 60,000 for the filter, keeps things running smoothly.

Quite a straightforward job, but patience helps with the wires and making sure everything is tight.
