Good evening all.

Sorry, bit long winded this post.

My car is an automatic Ford Focus 62 plate.

A couple of months ago or more my car was losing power steering fluid.

My mechanic put a new reservoir on it.

A couple of days after I had the new one fitted, every morning when I turned the car on there was a loud screeching coming from under the bonnet.

This happened every morning for a few seconds when starting my car in the morning and when leaving work in the evening.

My mechanic said it was the bearings and he booked it in for a week later.

The day before it was supposed to go in my mechanic sent me a text saying there had been a close family bereavement so could we book it in for 2 weeks later.

I decided to take it to another garage as the noise was getting louder.

The next garage put a new power steering pump on, which wasn’t cheap.

The morning after collecting my car i started it up and yet again it was screeching.

I took it back to the garage and after a couple of days they called me back saying they think the problem was with the reservoir the other garage fitted.

They said it had 2 filters in the reservoir and everytime they took the orange filter out the noise did not happen, but when they put it back in the noise came back.

In the end they asked me did I want to leave the orange filter out for now and see how it goes.

They said the other filter would still filter out the rubbish anyway.

Has anyone ever had this trouble or know anything about it.

Bit apprehesive about driving it now.

Thank you.

Simon.
