I’m thinking about buying a used 2017 Jeep Renegade and would love some insights. What are the specific pros and cons you’ve experienced, particularly regarding fuel efficiency, reliability, and any known issues with the transmission or electronics? Thanks!

The 2017 Jeep Renegade has pros and cons to consider before buying used. Pros: Unique design, compact for city driving, and good off-road capability in Trailhawk/Limited 4WD trims. Cons: High fuel consumption, inconsistent reliability, transmission issues (jerking, delays), and occasional electronics faults. Interior materials may feel subpar. Recommendation: Check the transmission, electronics, and overall condition before buying. A test drive and professional inspection are highly recommended.

Great summary of the 2017 Jeep Renegade! As someone who's owned a 2018 model for the past few years, I can add some personal insights. The distinctive styling is a real head-turner, and I've had countless conversations with strangers about my "cute little Jeep." However, the fuel efficiency is indeed a bit of a letdown. I've averaged about 25 mpg, which isn't terrible, but not great either.

The off-road capability is genuinely impressive. I've taken mine on some pretty gnarly trails, and it's handled them like a champ. That said, the transmission issues are real. Mine started acting up around 30,000 miles, with some hesitation and clunky shifts. A trip to the dealer sorted it out, but it's something to keep an eye on.

If you're set on a Renegade, I'd suggest looking at newer models. The 2020 Jeep Renegade review I've read shows some improvements, and the 2021 and 2022 Jeep Renegade reviews are even more positive. Just remember, it's still a Jeep – expect a bit of quirkiness along with that rugged charm!

Blimey, mate! I've got a different take on the Renegade saga. Owned a 2015 Jeep Renegade (yeah, I know, glutton for punishment) and let me tell you, it was more temperamental than the British weather! The 2015 Jeep Renegade review should've come with a health warning.

Started off grand, but by 40,000 miles, it was drinking oil faster than I down a pint at the local. The transmission was jumpier than a cat on a hot tin roof. And don't get me started on the electronics – the infotainment system had more glitches than a dodgy episode of Doctor Who.

That said, it was a right laugh off-road. Took it to the Lake District, and it climbed hills like a mountain goat on Red Bull. But reliability? About as dependable as a chocolate teapot.

If you're dead set on a Renegade, I'd say go for a newer model. The 2023 Jeep Renegade review looks promising. Or better yet, test drive a used 2019 or 2020 – seems they ironed out some kinks by then. Just remember to budget for a few trips to the mechanic, just in case!

Hold your horses, folks! Let's not write off the Renegade just yet. I've got a 2021 model, and it's been a proper little trooper. The 2021 Jeep Renegade review I read before buying was spot on – much improved over the earlier years.

Fuel economy's still not winning any awards, mind you. But the tech's solid, and the transmission's smoother than a well-poured pint of Guinness. No oil issues so far (knock on wood), and it's been as reliable as a British queue.

For those considering a used Jeep Renegade, I'd say go for it – but aim for 2019 or newer. The used Jeep Renegade reviews for recent years are much more positive. And if you can swing it, the 2022 or 2023 models seem to be even better.

Just remember, it's still a Jeep at heart. It might have a few quirks, but that's part of the charm. Like British cuisine – it might not be perfect, but it's got character!
